Parent / caregiver participation
This is a participatory caregiver-and-child class. Parents and caregivers remain responsible for supervising their own children at all times. Birdsong Kyoto runs its classes with care for everyone's safety. We cannot accept responsibility for injury or accident arising from causes not attributable to us, and we ask for your understanding.

Initial Enrollment and Billing
Initial Enrollment: Your first month’s tuition and registration fee is due when you enroll, and your child's place is held once it has been paid. Mid-month enrollments are prorated based on the remaining classes in that month.
Monthly Tuition: Tuition is paid by bank transfer, and is due by the 25th of the month before (for example, November tuition is due by October 25th). We will send you the transfer details when you enroll. -
Health & illness
Please stay home if you or your child has experienced fever, vomiting, diarrhea, or symptoms of a contagious illness within the preceding 24 hours.
-
Absences & makeups
If you cannot make a class, please notify us by 9:30 AM via LINE. Families may attend a makeup session on our designated seasonal buffer dates (4 makeup days available during the year). We cannot issue cash refunds for personal absences. Enrolled families receive ongoing access to our digital audio songs and home learning materials, ensuring your child can continue enjoying musical play at home even when sick.
-
Cancellations
To end your enrollment, please submit written notice via LINE or by email to hello@birdsongkyoto.com by the 15th of the preceding month (e.g., notice by November 15th to end enrollment effective November 30th, stopping December billing). Cancellations received after the 15th will take effect at the end of the subsequent billing cycle.
-
Pausing your enrollment
We understand that travel, family visits, or seasonal schedules happen. Families may pause their monthly enrollment for up to one calendar month without repaying the registration fee (入会金). Please notify us by the 15th of the preceding month (e.g., notice by November 15th to pause for December). Re-entry is subject to available space in your preferred class time; if the class is at capacity, returning families receive first priority on our waitlist.
-
Weather & outdoor sessions
If a seasonal outdoor session is scheduled, weather updates will be sent via LINE and email by 8:00 AM on Saturday morning. In the event of rain or severe weather, class will be held indoors at the Sakyo West Area Iki-Iki Citizen Activity Center or shifted online.
Child privacy & photography policy
We take digital safety and child privacy seriously. We photograph our classes and share those pictures on this website and on Instagram, and we choose them with care: hands on instruments, backs of heads, movement across the room, and children at play instead of posed. We do not publish close-up portraits, we never put a child's name beside a picture, and where a face is easily recognizable we blur it first. A face already turned away or partly hidden we leave alone. You tell us at enrollment what you are comfortable with, and you can change that at any time by sending us a message.
Parent photography
Parents are welcome to snap personal photos of their own child before or after class. To protect the privacy of all families, please refrain from taking photos or videos during class that capture other children's faces, and do not post other families' children to social media without explicit consent.
